LIFESTYLE FASHION SHOW – SUMMER/WINTER 2021

It’s been an exciting weekend when we finally got to experience the most talked event in Stuttgart, the first Africa continental fashion show LFS in Reutlingen in the region of Baden-Württemberg, southwest of Germany. The abbreviation LFS Summer/Winter full meaning is LifeStyle Fashion Show which took place on the 23rd of Oct 2021 in Tübingen.

African native wear

The lady of the day was no one but the Nigerian-German Fashion designer Golda who have worked restlessly together with her partner in success and muse my humble self Hilda, I am proud to say we have managed to pull all this together to present the fashion show and the designs to live.

LifeStyle Fashion Show was a success despite the change of date due to booking and cancellations of halls and locations because of the COVID procedures and rules but we are glad that the event went so smoothly and the attendees responded so well that they were marvelled and didn’t want it to end. We have had quite a lot of congratulations, wish and reviews from people and the excitement of “Can’t wait to see next years collections”.

The event was themed LifeStyle with the intend to promote the concept of the use of African prints (popularly known as Ankara or native wear) in Europe in order to add more value to its use and also seeing it as a regular clothing that can be added in our wardrobe and comfortably worn daily especially in summer when the weather is more friendlier even in Spring and Autumn too when colours are much appreciated.

Among various styles you’ll find in the parade were Denim, Tulle, Ankara and African native prints Isi -Agu (Head of a lion) collection. Each drawing on the Ankara fabric has a name and could easily be identified with the icon on it. The flow of styles were elegantly combined, each look exuded incredible informality as themed.

Sweetcorn print

The concept is to design African prints and combine it with English fabric to create outstanding designs with splashes of colour in all the collections which in the near future we hope to incorporate new styles and trend to cultivate more of African fabrics.

The collections displayed can be segmented into wearable, detailed pieces with artistic designs on them.

The idea behind it is to create something you can conformably wear in all occasion such as street, occasional and home wear just like you see me wearing the Ankara bathrobe and a cap.
