Interior Wall Design
My enthusiasm for interior designs and art is growing by day and the need to be creative is increasing rapidly that I had to create this amazing looking piece of art from Yves Saint Laurent, knowing fully well that getting a fashion designers wall art from a gallery could cost me a fortune so I decided to do this DIY of the YSL logo on a canvas which was fun getting my hand stained with paints like an authentic artist in her studio.
I have always known that I have a heart for interior designs, art and paintings which was the main reason I didn’t hesitate to create this large wall art. Though it may look a little diverse but the intention here was to have fun, honestly painting this frame was a game changer and challenging yet quite entertaining, so let me show you how I made it.
This luxurious frame was artfully hand painted with an acrylic paint and a gold foil paper which are the main two materials to get this painting started.
- Frame 60cm x 81cm “approx 23.6 x 31.8 inches”
- Luxens Acrylic paints: Orchid 2, Smoke 4, Black, White & Candy 3
- Paint Brushes
- Paint Plate-mixer
- Gold Foil
- E6000 Glue
- A4 Paper
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Ruler
- Frame hook
The first thing to do is to mix some colours (grey and white) ( pink and white) together to create a sort of a background and transition to break the white colour on the canvas.
When that is done, you’ll need a Fan or/and Small Flat brush to draw the flowers, the brush you’ll use will depend on the kind of flower you want to draw. Drawing and Painting the flowers is going to take quite sometime and patiences as it is where so much work needs to be done, if you look closely you’ll notice that the flowers are of different shapes and colours.
The flowers consist of layers of different colours because we need to create a flower that has perspective and the reflexion on the sun makes them change depending on the angle you’re looking at it from.
We are going to add some gold foil to this painting to give it a more glamorous look but we’re going to first draw a bold YSL logo on a A4 paper using a pencil and ruler. You can either draw it or simply search on google for a logo and print it out.
After drawing it, cut it out and trace it on the canvas, then apply E6000 glue to the traced logo and start applying the foil. This texture of the gold foil may be a little too thin to hold with the hand so you’ll need to handle it with care as it can be very sticky and messy if it breaks.
Now is time to clean up the messy work and add some more foils to the sides and corners of the canvas.
And this is what you’ll get after all your hours of hard work of painting a designer logo. By now you should be really proud of yourself 😛.
I just think a glamorous art will enhance your wall and not only that, it will enhance your photo memories.
